First Lady Appeals for Spiritual Backing

In a recent meeting, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, reached out to the Women’s Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Her message was simple: Edo State needs your prayers!

Why Prayers Matter for Edo State

During the courtesy visit at the Government House in Benin City, Mrs. Anani expressed her deep appreciation for the continuous spiritual support from CAN. She highlighted that prayers are crucial for the state’s leadership and overall well-being.

“The body of Christ is one, and when you have different denominations come together, it shows unity in Christ. It is essential we come together as one and pray for the leadership of this Government,” Mrs. Anani stated.

A New Era, A New Government

Referencing biblical principles, Mrs. Anani urged everyone to embrace the present. “The Bible says pray for your leaders. Whatever has happened, the Bible says put them all aside, and behold, everything has become new. So, this is a new era, a new Government, and we need your prayers. You are our spiritual heads because you stand in the gap for us”.

Emulating Christ in Governance

Mrs. Anani stressed the significance of mirroring Jesus’ lifestyle in all aspects of life, especially in governance. She urged the representatives to act like Christ, ensuring their actions reflect Christian values.

Quoting the Book of Ephesians on the importance of love, she guaranteed the CAN representatives of her support and asked for their prayers for the State.

Religious Leaders Pledge Support

Mrs. Eunice Ojezua, President of the Association, congratulated Mrs. Anani on her appointment. She also assured her of their unwavering support. “We want to congratulate you and we want to let you know that we are solidly behind you. We will always support you,” Mrs. Ojezua affirmed.

A United Front

Apostle Sule Faraday, the Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Religious Matters, praised Mrs. Anani as a motherly figure who is willing to collaborate with everyone. He highlighted her role as the Mother of the State.

Concluding with Prayers

The meeting wrapped up with prayers for individuals, the government, and the entire state. The spiritual leaders offered their blessings and intercessions for the prosperity and well-being of Edo State.
