Asagba Says ‘No More!’ to Unregistered Doctors

In a recent announcement, the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, declared a ban on all unregistered native doctors and their female counterparts (Ezewanyi) who aren’t from Asaba. The reason? Their activities are causing trouble and disturbing the peace of the land.

“The way they operate is detrimental to the peace and well-being of our land,” Prof. Azinge stated firmly. He also pointed out the increasing number of people moving into Asaba from other states, creating additional concerns for the community.

Why the Ban? Here’s the Real Deal

According to the Asagba, these unregistered practitioners are allegedly supporting criminal activities. “They are supporting not just the Yahoo Yahoo boys, but are also behind kidnappings, among others,” he explained.

To ensure order, all native doctors operating in Asaba must now register and get clearance from the ‘Otuhas,’ the governing legislative body in Asaba. No clearance, no practice!
