The state will soon receive 60-megawatt gas turbines, and the installation site at Elebele is almost ready. This project aims to provide constant electricity to Yenagoa, Nembe, Ogbia, Kolokuma/Opokuma, Sagbama, and parts of Ekeremor local government areas.
Water, Water Everywhere (Soon!): Tackling the Drought
Once the power issue is sorted, the focus will shift to water. Governor Diri promises to make potable water available in Yenagoa, Nembe, and most local government areas. This is a huge relief for residents who have been struggling with water scarcity for years.
Road to Progress: Connecting Communities
The governor also addressed the request for the construction of the Igbeta-Ewoama-Okoroba road. While time is a constraint, the administration plans to partner with the Niger Delta Development Commission and the South-South Development Commission to complete this and other road projects. These roads will connect communities to the state capital, boosting development and accessibility.
