NYCN Drops the Hammer: Sukubo Out!
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has officially shown Mr. Sukubo Saraigbe the door. According to the Comrade Solomon Adodo-led group, Sukubo’s expulsion comes after accusations of violating the NYCN’s constitution and creating divisions within the council.
The Charges: What Did Sukubo Do?
The NYCN isn’t holding back! They claim Sukubo engaged in:
- Illegal Factionalization: Creating his own splinter group within the NYCN.
- Impersonation: Posing as an official representative without proper authorization.
- Perjury: Lying under oath (presumably in matters related to the NYCN).
- Forgery: Allegedly issuing a bad cheque for a whopping N200 million, supposedly on behalf of the NYCN!
More Heads Roll: Suspensions Announced
Sukubo isn’t the only one facing consequences. The NYCN also announced the suspension of Amb. Innocent Nduanya and Abubakar Suleiman Esq., who held positions as factional Vice President and Secretary General, respectively.
Why were they suspended? The NYCN cites gross incompetence, failure to perform their duties, and aiding Sukubo in his alleged constitutional breaches.
NYCN’s Warning: No Room for Division!
Comrade Riki Nwajiofor, the Acting Secretary General of the NYCN, made it clear: divisive elements won’t be tolerated. He warned that any further violations of the terms of the suspension will lead to indefinite expulsion from the NYCN.
Looking Ahead: A Stronger, United NYCN?
Despite the internal turmoil, Comrade Adodo remains optimistic. He thanked the Nigerian youth for their support and praised the Ministry of Youth Development and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for their efforts to empower young people.
He promised a renewed focus on unity, accountability, and transparency within the NYCN, with the goal of delivering greater value to youth across Nigeria’s 774 local governments, 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The NYCN hopes to be more involved in activities aimed at developing the potential of Nigerian youth.
