Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election: Kwankwaso Says It’s a Done Deal!

Hold on tight! A bigwig in Nigeria’s ruling party, APC, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, is saying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a shoo-in for a second term in 2027. Kwankwaso insists nothing can stop Tinubu, not even the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF). Get ready for some political fireworks!

  • Major Claim: Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is almost certain.
  • Key Figure: Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a prominent APC member.
  • Controversy: The Arewa Consultative Forum’s (ACF) influence is being questioned.
  • Ganduje’s Stance: Supports Tinubu getting a second term for fairness.

Is Tinubu’s Second Term a Foregone Conclusion?

Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a top dog in the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kano, has boldly declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ambition for a second term is practically set in stone. This statement is causing quite a stir!

Kwankwaso Doubles Down on Support

Kwankwaso, who used to be Commissioner for Rural Development, is backing up APC Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s recent comments. He’s adamant that even without the backing of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Tinubu will still sweep the Northern vote in 2027. No ‘selfish’ politics will get in the way, he claims.

Ganduje’s Controversial Statement

Ganduje recently got tongues wagging when he publicly stated that the North should give Tinubu a second chance out of fairness. He argued that since former President Muhammadu Buhari had an eight-year run, the South deserves the same.

Defending Ganduje’s Position

Kwankwaso, currently serving as Executive Director Finance at Hadejia Jama’are River Basin, is firing back at critics of Ganduje’s stance. He believes the North should hold off on trying to reclaim power until 2031. He also downplays the ACF’s political clout, saying they don’t have the chops to speak for the North.

Kwankwaso’s Harsh Words for Critics

Kwankwaso didn’t hold back when addressing Solomon Dalung, a vocal critic of Tinubu. He accused Dalung of staying silent during Buhari’s administration despite previously criticizing bad governance. He lumped Dalung, Najaatu Muhammad, and Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso together, saying they’ve done nothing to benefit the North.

Tinubu’s Northern Projects: A Game Changer?

Kwankwaso praised Ganduje for recognizing Tinubu’s contributions to the North, even in his first few months. He claims Tinubu’s projects in the region are already surpassing what others have done. “The entire Northern Nigeria has become a project site,” he declared, adding that even more projects are in the works for Tinubu’s second term.

APC’s Growing Strength Under Ganduje

Kwankwaso also applauded Ganduje’s leadership, noting that the APC is gaining members from the opposition. He pointed to recent election victories and the constant stream of National Assembly members defecting to the APC as signs of the party’s growing strength.

Kwankwaso: Tinubu is Unstoppable

All these factors, according to Kwankwaso, point to Tinubu’s inevitable return to power in 2027, a prospect that he says has rattled Kwankwaso and his supporters. But is it really a done deal?
