Robbery Attempt in Apo Foiled by Swift Police Action

Last night took a dangerous turn in Abuja’s Zone E Extension area of Apo Resettlement. Around 10:30 PM, chaos erupted as armed robbers targeted residents. But guess what? The FCT Police Command wasn’t having it!

How the Drama Unfolded

It all started with a distress call. A brave commercial motorcycle rider reported the sound of heavy gunfire. CSP Uchenna Igwebuike, the Divisional Police Officer of Apo Division, didn’t waste a second. He deployed Ambush and Surveillance Teams to the location immediately. Talk about a rapid response!

But wait, there’s more! DCP Isyaku Sharu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, joined the party with reinforcements. The heat was on, and the criminals couldn’t handle it. A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the assailants to scatter like scared chickens.

The Aftermath: Manhunt and Casualties

Now, the real action begins. A joint manhunt operation is underway. Police personnel and local vigilantes are combing the area to catch those fleeing suspects. They won’t get far!

Sadly, not everyone escaped unharmed. Three victims were rushed to Sahad Hospital, Apo, with injuries. Tragically, one of them later died. Commissioner Adewale sent his condolences to the family, promising unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all residents.

Evidence Recovered

Amidst the chaos, a light green Toyota Corolla with plate number GWA 620 AU was recovered from the scene. This could be a crucial piece of evidence in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
