Grave Robber? Hunter Digs Up Stepdad, Chops Off Head For Rituals!

In a bizarre and gruesome case out of Adamawa State, Nigeria, a local hunter has been arrested for a truly disturbing act. This isn’t your everyday hunting tale; it involves grave-robbing, a severed head, and some seriously dark rituals. Buckle up, because this story is a wild ride.

Here’s a quick rundown of what happened:

  • A hunter named Yusuf Garba (aka Gana) dug up his stepfather’s corpse.
  • He then chopped off the deceased’s head.
  • Why? Apparently, for some really messed-up ritual purposes.
  • The police have the hunter in custody and are investigating the whole thing.

The Horrifying Discovery

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 55-year-old Yusuf Garba, a hunter known locally as Gana. This wasn’t a case of mistaken identity or a hunting accident. Garba stands accused of exhuming his stepfather’s body from its resting place in Tappare Kona Uku, a community within the Jada Local Government Area. But the horror doesn’t stop there. Once the body was out of the ground, Garba proceeded to cut off the head.

Confession Under Interrogation

During police questioning, Garba confessed to the heinous act. The confession reveals a disturbing and somewhat bizarre motive. Garba claims he was pressured into doing this by the deceased’s own son, who wanted the head for some sort of traditional rite a year after the burial. Yes, you read that right. A year later.

According to Garba, the son of the deceased was denied permission to bury his father in Jalingo, Taraba State. Instead, the son returned a year later and demanded that Garba retrieve the head. The hunter, fearing the son who he claimed was a witch, decided to do as he was asked.

The Gruesome Details

Garba admitted that he dug up the grave around 4:00 am, severed the head, and handed it over to the deceased’s son in a polythene bag. It’s like something out of a horror movie. What makes this even more disturbing is the fact that two weeks later, the deceased’s wife, who was inherited by the son, began experiencing nightmares.

More Rituals?

To stop the nightmares, Garba claims he performed another ritual: he slaughtered a chicken, pouring its blood over the decomposed corpse. He then cooked and ate the chicken. This all allegedly happened about four years ago. However, a dispute with someone who knew about the incident, Benjamin Jatau, led to the matter being reported to the police.

What’s Next?

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nguroje, has confirmed that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation. Rest assured, Garba will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The police are also urging residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in their communities. This is one case where you might want to double-check your locks at night.

Disturbing Trend of Ritual Killings in Nigeria

This case, while shocking, is unfortunately part of a disturbing trend of ritualistic crimes in Nigeria. From the infamous cases of the ‘Yahoo boys’ using body parts for money rituals to the activities of so-called witch doctors, this problem seems to be increasing. While some may dismiss it as superstition, the reality is that innocent people become victims of these heinous acts.

The authorities in Nigeria continue to battle this issue, but more awareness is needed to stop this menace.
