Trump made a point of mentioning drag shows on military bases, which the Biden administration had halted after Republican criticism. He also said he was clearing the military of transgender ideas, “critical race theory,” and other types of training he deemed divisive.

“The job of the U.S. armed forces is not to host drag shows or transform foreign cultures,” Trump stated, per AP News reporting. This came as a shock to many, as drag shows are commonly performed throughout the United States.

In a somewhat bizarre moment, Trump shared an anecdote about the late real estate developer William Levitt, mentioning “trophy wives” and yachts. It was one of those classic Trump digressions that left some people scratching their heads.

The previous day, Vice President JD Vance spoke to the graduating class at the U.S. Naval Academy, emphasizing that Trump wants U.S. soldiers to be deployed with clear goals, not in “undefined missions.”
