The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the 2025 edition of the FCT Minister Volleyball Challenge. This year’s tournament promises to be bigger and better, with a whopping 53 teams from 33 volleyball clubs battling it out for glory. Get ready for some high-flying action!
Why This Tournament Matters
Commodore James Aliyu Pindar (Rtd), the head honcho of the FCT Volleyball Caretaker Committee, is super excited about what this tournament means for the future of volleyball in the FCT. It’s all about finding those hidden gems and giving them a platform to shine. He envisions this tournament as a breeding ground for future volleyball stars who will represent the FCT and Nigeria on the national and international stages.
More Teams, More Action!
Last year’s tournament was a hit, with 30 club sides participating. But this year, they’ve cranked it up a notch with 33 clubs, bringing a total of 53 teams to the court. That’s a whole lot of volleyball! Both outdoor and indoor courts at the Package B, Moshood Abiola Stadium complex will be used, ensuring non-stop action.
What’s at Stake?
It’s not just about bragging rights! Teams are competing for:
- Participation grants for all 53 teams
- Trophies for the overall winners
- Medals and cash prizes for the top 3 teams
- Individual awards for outstanding players (6 males and 6 females)
- T-shirts for MVPs from the quarter-finals onwards
- Certificates of participation for all 33 clubs
- Water and other goodies to keep the players energized

The FCT isn’t stopping with just this challenge. The Association of FCT Volleyball Clubs has a whole calendar of events planned for 2025, including:
